
Challenge: Create a logotype for Nobu, a Michelin star seafood restaurant with over 30 locations around the globe. The owner of Nobu was first recognized by Robert DeNiro for his Miso Cod dish, which is now the most popular item on the menu.
Idea: A logo that evokes the movement of sea life or the flow of a wave.

Solution: I discovered that by removing part of the “N” and crafting the serifs on the “U” and “B”, I could create a wave-like form that flows through the logo without compromising legibility. The result is simple enough to be embossed on a chopstick and elegant enough to represent this world
